HeHe: A Unique Blend of Art and Agriculture

Exploring the Award-Winning Packaging Design by Jianhua Dong, Chao Yang, and Sy Xiang

The inspiration behind HeHe stems from the construction of Chinese characters. The designers, Jianhua Dong, Chao Yang, and Sy Xiang, have ingeniously combined these characters with the graphics of agricultural products. The result is a series of packaging designs that exude a natural, humanistic, and artistic style.

What sets HeHe apart from other designs is its unique approach to visualizing agricultural products. The designers have transformed these visuals through art design, combining them with modern graphics to create a distinctive identification. This innovative approach has given birth to a packaging design that is as aesthetically pleasing as it is functional.

The realization of HeHe involved a blend of text and graphics, achieved through graphic creativity. By creatively designing the graphics, the designers have successfully merged the graphics of agricultural products with modern graphics. The project, which began in August 2020 in Hangzhou, posed several challenges. The most significant of these was achieving a unique style for agricultural product packaging that possessed an artistic style and cultural connotation. To overcome this, the designers deconstructed and combined Chinese characters and agricultural product graphics, using the idea of Chinese character formation.

HeHe is more than just a packaging design. It is a testament to the power of creativity and innovation, a fusion of culture and modern design techniques. It is a design that not only serves a practical purpose but also tells a story, making it a deserving winner of the prestigious Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2021.
